Kaweiente (Mikayla) George graduated from Regis University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy. Prior to this, Mikayla received a BA in Human Biology and Performance from Stanford University.
Mikayla’s unique practice style places special emphasis on collaborative relationships with her patients in order to develop a meaningful plan to help them reach their goals. She works hard to tailor each session’s hands on time, exercises and home program to align with each patient’s body type, personality, functional goals and/or sport. She firmly believes that she can learn from each patient’s story and looks forward to building relationships with every patient she comes into contact with.
Over her career, Mikayla has practiced in a variety of outpatient orthopedic settings in Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and most recently Texas. She has also provided medical coverage for a number of athletic events including marathons, 5ks and at the 2014 World Lacrosse Championships. She has a special passion for treating patients with concussions, and injuries of the hip, knee, foot and ankle.
Mikayla has completed a variety of continuing education in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and manual therapy techniques. She recently completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency with Evidence in Motion, following which she achieved her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification. She is also in the process of completing a certification in sports physical therapy, also with Evidence in Motion. She hopes to complete her Sports Specialist exam in the near future. Mikayla is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
When not at work, Mikayla enjoys hiking, biking and yoga, as well as curling up in her hammock with a good book.
