Dr. Lauren Morizi, DPT
Lauren graduated at the top of her class from LIU Brooklyn with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation she was also given The Award for General Excellence for her performance in and outside of the classroom.
Lauren has been an athlete for her entire life. She played Division 1 College Softball for LIU, where she became an Academic All-American. Despite her success on the field playing shortstop, it was the adversity that led her to the great profession of physical therapy. During her playing days, Lauren endured back-to-back season ending ACL injuries requiring surgeries and her own physical rehabilitation. It was then that Lauren realized her desire for helping others achieve their own goals through physical therapy – and to return to their loved activity better than before.
Throughout Lauren’s own athletic and rehabilitation experiences, she has developed a great awareness of the body and is able to understand each of her patient’s symptoms from an athlete’s perspective. Lauren utilizes manual therapy techniques in accordance with therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular re-education, which she feels is imperative to incorporate with all of her patients. She aims to unravel and treat the root cause of each patient’s symptoms by looking at how the whole body functions as a chain and not just an isolated body part.
Lauren has clinical work experiences in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, pediatric physical therapy and acute care at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Lauren is also a pediatric physical therapist in a school setting, while she pursues her outpatient sports orthopedic passions here at Spring Forward PT.
